Striping and Crimping guidelines as per IEC 60352-2
- Stripping Length shall be = Length of Crimp Barrel + 2 mm (up to
10 Sqmm) - Cable strands and Insulation should cut correctly.
- Cable Strands should not over-twist.
- Indents on the wire insulation caused by the stripping tool which do not damage the insulation are permitted.
- To avoid damaging the conductor during stripping, the stripping tools should be adapted according to conductor diameter.
- Crimping applicator shall be correctly located to accommodate
the Crimp Barrel correctly. - The Cable shall be correctly located in the crimp barrel. To Permit inspection, the conductor strands should be visible at both ends of the crimped part of an open crimp barrel.
- The workmanship of the crimped connection should be good, The crimp barrel should not be bent, twisted and partially crimped.
- After crimping the Crimped barrel shall pass the Pull-out test andContact resistance test.
